New location / big renovation
We acquired a freestanding building located in the heart of Columbia, MD. The building is currently going under a major renovation and will be ready for us in Summer 2021. We will officially begin the new academic year 2021/2022 at the new location:

Our team of educational and design experts believe in the power of a well-designed space to not only create inviting spaces for children but also create spaces that will support the child’s development in so many ways physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Security
Taking extra security measures gives our team and parents a piece of mind. The new location will be equipped with 3 layers of protection; access control at main doors, access control from lobby to the rest of the school, security on each classroom entrance/exit. Our event space is also completely separated from the rest of the school with a security door.
large classrooms perfect for social distancing
Our large classroom spaces are designed with safety in mind. The large classroom spaces allow for movement and proper social distancing. Each classroom has its entrance and exit to the playground, its own bathrooms and sinks in order to minimize exposure and mixing between classrooms.
Outdoor classroom space
One of the beautiful concepts of Montessori Education is having an outdoor space that is an extension of the indoor classroom, which proves how Montessori has always been ahead of her time. Each classroom has its own fenced outdoor classroom space that nurtures the child’s connection and fascination with nature. Children can take their work outside and experience the sun, soft breeze and bird sounds while breathing fresh air.
indoor gym/event space
Our indoor gym space doubles as an event space and is used for a variety of activities to engage our Aya community. This space has its separate entrance from the exterior of the building and is completely separated from the rest of the school with an interior security door. This room is perfect for many activities including:
Morning-care room (7am - 8am)
Indoor Gym space for different activities: Movement equipments, martial arts classes and more.
Event space for educational and social events.
Indoor Recess room in inclement weather.
outdoor Playgrounds/sports/splash pool
With 2 acres of land, our new location accommodates the different developmental needs of each age group. Our outdoor space has the following spaces:
Infants/Toddlers Playground
Primary/Elementary Playground + Picnic Area
Soccer field + Stage for events and performances.
Basketball court
Splash Pool + Driving School for Bikes, Trikes and Scooters.
Outdoor Classroom spaces for each classroom (including infants/toddlers).
Community Garden.
Innovation Lab
Our innovation lab is our MakerSpace area accessible by Elementary students and teachers. It’s where the magic happens and the imaginations run wild. Our Elementary children and staff will have access to many equipments such as: sewing machine, computers, laser-cutter, laminators, circuit machines, and a material making space to train and work on under supervision.
community garden
When children experience nature by planting seeds, caring for plants, and watching them grow, they become more appreciative and caring of nature. Just like the Montessori environment provides hands on materials to learn different concepts, our community garden will serve as a hands-on experience for learning more about life, nature and how things work. Our community of parents and children will soon begin planting the seeds for lifelong learning. The garden will have a nature classroom for gardening classes and gatherings.
